According to the report of the American oilfield services company Baker Hughes, the number of active oil and gas drilling rigs in the world in June decreased for the fourth month in a row. On average, in the past month, 1,073 units were operating in the world, and in May – 1,176 units. At the same time, the June level is 1148 less than the indicator for the same month last year. In the USA, the number of installations in June decreased by 74 compared to the previous month – to 274, which was a record low. In Canada, the indicator fell by 5 units – up to 18 drilling, which is also a historical minimum. The number of drilling rigs over the past month in the Asia-Pacific region increased by 1 and reached 197, in Latin America – by 9, to 71. At the same time, in the Middle East, the number of rigs fell by 32 to 343 (at least since March 2013). In Africa, a decrease of 1 unit was recorded – up to 60 units (the lowest level since September 2009), in Europe the number of drilling units also decreased by 1 and amounted to 110 (a minimum since April last year).
