According to official figures, the number of unemployed in Spain in March 2020 increased at a record pace compared to the previous month – by 302.3 thousand. Such leap was recorded amid the negative effects of the COVID-19 pandemic on the Italian economy.
In March the number of unemployed reached 3.548 million people, which is the highest since April 2017.
The number of unemployed in the service sector increased by 206 thousand, in the construction sector – by 59.55 thousand, in the industrial sector – by 25.19 thousand, in agriculture – by 6.52 thousand.
The number of unemployed among young people (less than 25 years old) increased by 26.11 thousand, and older – by 276.15 thousand.
Recall, according to April 2, in Spain 102 thousand cases of COVID-19 were confirmed.
