The introduction of new US tariffs on the import of gold bars has become an additional catalyst for the strengthening of cryptocurrencies. Problems with the supply of gold and the associated geopolitical risks have increased the popularity of bitcoin, which is seen as a universal asset free from customs duties and restrictions. It is also worth noting the success of another major cryptocurrency. Ether showed steady growth over the weekend and at the start of the week, reaching levels above $4,300. This figure was the highest for the ether since December 2021.
