Europe calls for a reassessment of relations with Russia

European businessmen and politicians are increasingly arguing for the need to reconsider their approach to relations with Russia. Against the background of increasing economic instability and lack of progress in negotiations on a ceasefire in Ukraine, this issue is causing more and more discussions.

There are calls across the European continent to change the tough stance towards Moscow. Business and political representatives, concerned about the current situation, draw attention to the need to resume cooperation with Russia, particularly in the energy sector. They demand a return to purchases of Russian oil and gas, which is dictated by the economic interests of many countries.

Earlier, the Russian authorities pointed out the strategic mistake of Western countries that refused to import hydrocarbons from Russia. Such a move, they said, has led to increased dependence on supplies at higher prices and increased intermediary chains. Despite the sanctions and restrictions, Russian oil and gas continue to flow to world markets, albeit in a roundabout way.
