China and Europe: new steps towards mutually beneficial cooperation

China expressed its readiness to strengthen cooperation with the European Union in order to jointly face global challenges. The Ministry of Finance in Beijing stressed that the world order is facing threats of division and chaos, and relations between China and the EU are gaining strategic importance. Lin Jian, a representative of the ministry, noted that Beijing highly values Europe as a key partner in a multipolar world and hopes for reliable cooperation.

At the same time, the EU is actively seeking dialogue with the United States to discuss the planned tariffs. Ursula von der Leyen, president of the European Commission, warned that negotiations with Washington would be difficult. However, despite the tension with the United States, Brussels is demonstrating its willingness to review relations with Beijing. Von der Leyen said that the EU will continue to reduce risks in relations with China, but sees the potential for mutually beneficial solutions that can expand trade and investment cooperation.

China, for its part, confirmed its desire to strengthen ties with the EU, considering it as an important strategic partner. It is expected that joint efforts will allow the parties to more effectively address modern challenges.
