According to the Eurostat report, the unemployment rate in the eurozone in November remained at the October level and amounted to 6.3%. This figure coincided with the data for October and was lower than analysts' expectations, which had predicted an increase to 6.4%. In the European Union as a whole, unemployment also remained at the October level, amounting to 5.9%. For comparison, in November 2023, the unemployment rate was 6.5% in the eurozone and 6.1% in the EU, indicating some improvement in the labor market situation over the year. In absolute terms, the number of unemployed in the EU amounted to 12.968 million people, of whom 10.819 million live in the eurozone countries. By country, the lowest unemployment rate was recorded in the Czech Republic (2.8%), as well as in Malta and Poland (3% each). The highest unemployment rates were observed in Spain (11.2%), Greece (9.6%), Finland (8.7%) and Sweden (8.5%). These indicators highlight the significant difference in the state of labor markets between EU countries, with a more favorable situation in Central and Eastern Europe and high unemployment in some southern and northern countries.
