SPIEF, one of the largest economic forums in the world, starts today. The main theme of this year will be «The foundation of a multipolar world.» The participants will discuss the transition to a multipolar economic model, the goals and objectives of the Russian economy, technology, as well as the social priorities of the state. The agenda also includes issues of cooperation between the BRICS and SCO countries. Russia, China and Iran stressed the need to resume the nuclear deal by issuing a joint statement at the IAEA meeting. The US removed the nuclear deal from the agenda back in December 2022, and there has been no progress since then. The G7 countries plan to provide Ukraine with a loan financed by income from frozen Russian assets. This was announced by US Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen. The new financing mechanism for Ukraine will be presented at the upcoming G7 summit on June 13-15 or on the eve of the peace summit on Ukraine. Of the 27 EU countries, only three increased exports to Russia in the first quarter of 2024: Ireland, Portugal and Cyprus.
