Президент РФ Владимир Путин продлил срок действия продуктового эмбарго до 31 декабря 2020 года.

Согласно действующему указу, власти страны ввели запрет на ввоз определенных видов продовольственных товаров из ЕС, США, Австралии, Канады и Норвегии. Указ был принят в 2014 году в ответ на западные санкции, введенные после присоединения Крыма.

Со временем действие эмбарго было распространено на ряд других стран, поддержавших антироссийские санкции. Под запрет попали: мясо, рыба, молочная продукция, фрукты, орехи и прочие продукты питания.

Ранее, в июне, совет Евросоюза официально продлил на год антироссийские санкции, введенные после присоединение Крыма.
