Президент Федерального резервного банка Чикаго Чарльз Эванс, имеющий право голоса на заседании FOMC, заявил, что ожидает долгосрочного сохранения текущего значения процентной ставки.

Чиновник отметил, что его вполне устроит, если процентная ставка останется на уровне 2,50% до осени 2020 года. Он полагает, что это поможет вернуть инфляцию к целевому уровню 2%.

Смягчение монетарной политики ФРС США пока не оказало сильного давления на курс американского доллара, так как ведущие центробанки также отказались от планов по повышению процентной ставки.

Сегодня ночь стало известно, что Резервный банк Австралии готовится перейти к снижению процентной ставки, если инфляция не ускорится, а число безработных не начнет расти.

Решение Резервного банка Австралии аналогично последним решениям ЕЦБ, Банка Англии и Резервного банка Новой Зеландии. Глава Банка Канады Стивен Полоз также исключил возможность повышения процентной ставки в ближайшем будущем.
