Президент Южной Кореи Мун Чжэ Ин и лидер КНДР Ким Чен Ын провели незапланированные переговоры, а американские чиновники возобновили подготовку к встрече с президентом США Дональдом Трампом.

Главы Северной и Южной Кореи встретились в пограничном пункте Пханмунджом, в ходе переговоров лидеры стран договорились о проведении саммита с участием США и КНДР.

Мун Чжэ Ин отметил, что считает важнейшим тот факт, что лидеры двух Корей легко договорились о встрече, без сложных процедур и формальностей, чтобы обсудить неотложные проблемы.

Ранее Д. Трамп отменил встречу с Ким Чен Ыном, но затем сообщил, что переговоры могут состояться, а делегация США отправилась в Северную Корею для обсуждения деталей. Госдепартамент США также сообщил, что в Пханмунджоме произошла встреча представителей США и КНДР.

Президент Южной Кореи отметил, что Пхеньян и Вашингтон по-разному оценивают процесс денуклеаризации и предложил провести рабочие переговоры, чтобы снять возможные противоречия.

Позиция США состоит в полном сворачивании программы разработки ядерного оружия, тогда как Пхеньян не готов проводить ядерное разоружение в одностороннем порядке.
