В первом квартале 2018 года американская холдинговая компания Berkshire Hathaway Inc. понесла чистый убыток в размере $1,14 млрд, тогда как за аналогичный период прошлого года она получила прибыль в $4,06 млрд. При этом операционная прибыль за год выросла с $3,56 млрд до $5,29 млрд. Компания потеряла часть средств впервые за последние 9 лет и объясняет это изменением стандартов учета нереализованных убытков от инвестиций. 

Ранее глава компании Уоррен Баффетт предупреждал акционеров, что из-за введения нового бухгалтерского правила прибыль компании будет казаться более волатильной.

Инвестиционный доход компании за отчетный период уменьшился на $6,2 млрд. Выручка Berkshire составила $58,47 млрд, сократившись с $64,37 млрд в первом квартале прошлого года из-за уменьшения размера страховых премий. Год назад страховые премии Berkshire были необычно высокими из-за крупной перестраховочной сделки с American International Group Inc.

Цена акций Berkshire класса «А» в конце прошлой недели составляла $292 600, снизившись на 1,7% с начала 2018 года.

Кроме того, в первом квартале Berkshire дополнительно к своему крупному портфелю приобрела 75 млн акций Apple Inc.

На ежегодном собрании акционеров Berkshire Hathaway основатель и бессменный глава компании Уоррен Баффетт заявил, что Berkshire будет показывать хорошие финансовые показатели и после того, как он перестанет ее возглавлять.
