Китай инициировал разбирательство в ВТО против США

Власти КНР инициировали разбирательство в ВТО по поводу введения правительством США пошлин на ввоз стали и алюминия.

Соединенные Штаты ввели пошлины на импорт стали в размере 25% и алюминия – 10%, чтобы «обеспечить национальную безопасность». При этом действие пошлин было приостановлено до 1 мая для стран Евросоюза, Австралии, Канады, Мексики, Аргентины, Бразилии и Южной Кореи.

Министерство коммерции КНР считает, что США избирательно не распространили пошлины на ряд стран, но ввели их в отношении некоторых членов ВТО, что нарушают принцип недискриминации механизма многосторонней торговли. Кроме того, Китай обвиняет США в нарушении обязательств, данных Всемирной торговой организации по поводу снижения таможенных тарифов, и в подрыве интересов Китая как члена организации. 

Власти Китая приняли решение инициировать разбирательство в ВТО, поскольку правительство США отказывается вести переговоры о компенсации ущерба.
