Shifts in ECB QE Lead to Market Confusion

December, 09 2016

The market was left in a state of general confusion after the European Central Bank publicized its revised asset-purchase program, causing majority of investors to take advantage of various parts and causing the said market confusion. The market is currently facing the possibility of a future sans quantitative easing after the ECB reduced its per month purchases by up to 60 billion EUR. This has caused uncontrollable fluctuations in the financial market, with German 10-year bond yields hitting its highest levels since January, while two-year notes rallied first before eventually losing majority of its gains. Meanwhile, the EUR declined sharply after briefly rallying after the ECB released its decision.
