US Federal Reserve Eased Policy on Inflation

The US Federal Reserve System (FRS) announced today that it will further ease its inflationary policy. Now the target is about 2%, the head of the regulator Jerome Powell said during an Internet symposium. The official also noted that the Central Bank is striving to ensure that «in the future, inflation would average 2%.»


The presentation also raised the topic of recent economic indicators. The number of initial applications for unemployment benefits in the United States of America for the week ended August 22, 2020 decreased from the revised figure of the previous week by 98 thousand – to 1.006 million Experts polled by Reuters predicted a drop to 1 million applications.
