German inflation slowed to 2.7% in February

According to the German Federal Statistical Office, in February 2024, an increase in consumer prices harmonized with EU standards was recorded by 2.7% compared to the same period of the previous year. Thus, inflation slowed down compared to the 3.1% increase in January. 


Compared to January 2024, inflation accelerated, showing an increase of 0.6%.


These results are fully consistent with the preliminary estimates and expectations of analysts.


Consumer prices calculated according to German standards also showed an increase in February: by 2.5% year-on-year and by 0.4% month-on-month, which also corresponds to analysts' forecasts. In January, these figures were 2.9% and 0.2%, respectively.
