Market participants continue to digest the August US inflation report, which showed that prices in key sectors of the economy, with the exception of gasoline, are still high. The rise in inflation makes us believe that the US Federal Reserve will continue aggressive actions to curb price growth, and most experts believe that the regulator will raise the interest rate next week by another 0.75 percentage points.

Currently, inflation in the States is 8.3%, and the main goal of the central bank is to reduce the indicator to the level of 2% without massive job cuts.

Today we should pay attention to three events.

  1. Applications for unemployment benefits in the United States

Analysts expect that last week the number of initial applications for unemployment benefits in the United States will be 226 thousand, which will be a slight increase compared to the previous week. The data will be released at 12:30 GMT and will be able to give the Fed additional information about trends in the labor market.

  1. Adobe Revenue

Also on Thursday, you should pay attention to the profit report of Adobe Systems Incorporated. Analysts expect earnings per share of $3.34 on revenue of $4.4 billion.

  1.  Retail sales

US retail sales data for August will also be released at 15:30 GMT. Analysts expect this indicator to increase by 0.2% over the month.
