Глава Федерального резервного банка Миннеаполиса Нил Кашкари заявил, что остановка в процессе повышения ставок позволит американской экономике продолжить рост.

Чиновник отметил, что экономика США обладает большим потенциалом, тогда как преждевременное ужесточение монетарной политики может оказать негативное влияние.

ФРС США на прошлой неделе отказалась от плана повышения ставок, уточнив, что будет терпеливо подходить к изменениям в кредитно-денежной политике в будущем.

Смягчение риторики регулятора, с одной стороны, успокоила инвесторов, но, с другой, была воспринята как признак ослабления экономики.

Кашкари также выделил главные риски для экономики в настоящий момент: замедление экономического роста КНР и неопределенность вокруг Brexit.

Он также заявил, что положительный эффект от налоговой реформы заканчивается, при этом нарастают опасения по поводу торгового противостояния США и Китая, что уже привело к снижению инвестиционной активности.

Тем не менее чиновник высоко оценил состояние экономики США. По его мнению, признаков перегрева на данный момент нет, однако ФРС не следует торопиться в процессе повышения краткосрочных процентных ставок.
