Крупная китайская автомобилестроительная компания Geely Automobile Holdings Limited приобрела 8,2% акций концерна Aktiebolaget (AB) Volvo у шведской инвестиционной компании Cevian Capital. Сумма сделки составляет $3,3 млрд.

Кристер Гарделл, член совета директоров Cevian Capital, отметил, что за время владения AB Volvo рыночная стоимость китайской компании выросла, став более конкурентоспособной на международном рынке.

Новые китайские акционеры AB Volvo намерены развивать производство грузовиков и автобусов. Ранее, в 2010 году, Geely приобрела компанию Volvo Car Group, специализирующуюся на выпуске легковых автомобилей.
