Perpetua Resources získává další finanční prostředky na projekt Stibnite od americké armády

(Reuters) – Těžební společnost Perpetua Resources ve středu oznámila, že od americké armády získala další finanční prostředky ve výši až 6,9 milionu dolarů na svůj projekt těžby antimonu a zlata Stibnite v Idahu.

Těžba, podporovaná Pentagonem, by byla prvním projektem na těžbu antimonu v zemi. Odhadované zásoby tohoto kovu, který se používá v nábojích a tancích, ale také ve slitinách pro baterie elektromobilů, činí 148 milionů liber.

Čína, která v roce 2024 bude zodpovědná za téměř 60 % celosvětové těžby antimonu, v prosinci loňského roku zakázala vývoz tohoto kovu do Spojených států, což vedlo k snahám o zvýšení produkce v USA.

Díky této dodatečné dotaci bude společnost Perpetua moci rozšířit výzkum a podpořit cíl americké armády, kterým je vytvoření zcela domácího dodavatelského řetězce pro trisulfid antimonu.
