Китай опубликовал сегодня свой первый отрицательный отчет по ВВП. Экономический рост в первом квартале 2020 года сократился на 6,8%.  В этот период правительство активно боролось с распространением коронавируса и вводило по всей стране строгие ограничительные меры.

Промышленное производство в Китае, по-видимому, сейчас восстанавливается довольно хорошо, в то время как сектор услуг испытывает значительные трудности. Кроме того, по последний данным во время пика эпидемии в Китае было зарегистрировано больше смертей, чем сообщалось ранее.

Число инфицированных Covid-19 в Соединенных Штатах уже превысило 700 000 человек. Если ранее президент США Дональд Трамп заявлял, что у него есть все полномочия для принятия решения о возобновлении экономики, то теперь признал, что это решение в конечном итоге будет зависеть от губернатора каждого штата.

Ситуация в Испании, Италии и Франции стабилизируется, тогда как в России болезнь продолжает набирать обороты. Что касается реакции Европейского Союза на кризис, то призывы Франции, Италии и Испании к совместным действиям игнорируются более консервативными членами блока, что создает дополнительную угрозу экономике ЕС.
