Выступая на всемирном экономическом форуме в Давосе, Джордж Сорос заявил, что текущие отношения между США и Китаем можно описать как «холодная война, которая может перерасти в горячую».

По мнению знаменитого американского финансиста, власти США должны проводить эффективную политику в отношении Китая, но сейчас администрация президента Дональда Трампа следует другим курсом: идет на уступки Китаю, при этом заявляет о победе и одновременно ведет атаки на союзников США.

Дж. Сорос считает, что подобная практика вредит основной цели администрации президента – пресечению злоупотреблений и эксцессов со стороны КНР.

По его мнению, Китай представляет собой авторитарный режим, и в то же время – богатое, сильное и технологически развитое государство. Таким образом, председатель КНР Си Цзиньпин является самым опасным оппонентом для открытого общества.
