Американская корпорация General Electric Co объявила о назначении Лоуренса Калпа председателем совета директоров и новым главным исполнительным директором (CEO) компании. Ранее он занимал пост CEO корпорации Danaher, в совет директоров GE входит с апреля 2018 года.

Руководство GE также сообщило о списании активов подразделения GE Power на сумму $23 млрд, в результате чего компания не сможет достичь обозначенных ранее целей по прибыли и показателям свободного денежного потока в текущем финансовом году.

Инвесторы хорошо восприняли назначение Л. Калпа новым главой General Electric, так как компания переживает тяжелые времена – за последние 12 месяцев рыночная капитализация GE сократилась более чем на 50%
