Ли Чжэ Ен, вице-президент компании Samsung Electronics, осужден на 5 лет за дачу взятки подруге бывшего президента Южной Кореи. Ли являлся фактическим главой компании, поскольку руководил ею из-за болезни отца, президента Samsung Electronics.

Суд признал Ли виновным в даче взятки размером $6,38 млн, прокурор требовал 12 лет наказания, но суд ограничился 5 годами.

Обвинение настаивало, что глава Samsung платил за покровительство со стороны президента. Защита утверждала, что Ли стал жертвой вымогательства, но признала факт добровольного пожертвования. 

Экс-президента Южной Кореи Пак Кын Хе отстранили от должности из-за обвинений в коррупции.
