Major US stock indexes are growing on Thursday, updating all-time highs, on the back of the released macroeconomic data for the country. Thus, the Dow Jones Industrial Average (DJIA) grew by 0.81%, to 34149.32 points, the NASDAQ high-tech index – by 0.81%, to 14390 points, the S&P 500 broad market index increased by 0.56%, to 4268.53 pips. The NASDAQ and S&P have reached their all-time highs. The optimism in the markets was caused by the statistics from the USA, which supported analysts' hopes for a speedy economic recovery. In particular, the US GDP in the first quarter, according to the final estimate, grew by 6.4% on an annualized basis, which coincided with the forecasts of experts. In addition, the number of applications for unemployment benefits in the United States over the past week decreased by 7 thousand compared to the revised figure of the previous week – to 411 thousand. At the same time, the total number of those receiving unemployment benefits fell to 3.39 million, which is the minimum since March 21, 2020.
