Retail sales in the eurozone showed the worst dynamics in 2 years

According to the EU statistical agency Eurostat, retail sales in the eurozone countries decreased by 0.5% in July compared with June. This was the most significant drop since August 2023.Analysts had expected a more moderate decrease of 0.2%. At the same time, the revised data for June showed an increase of 0.6% instead of the previously announced 0.3%.By product category, sales of food, beverages and tobacco products fell by 1.1% in July.
