SpaceX to invest $2 billion in Musk's AI company xAI

SpaceX is investing $2 billion in the artificial intelligence startup xAI, owned by Elon Musk. This amount will be part of xAI's previously announced $5 billion funding round.

Musk is actively integrating his businesses to support the new project, which is positioned as a competitor to OpenAI. In March, xAI was merged with the X social network, which expanded the access of the Grok chatbot to a wide audience. According to experts, the combined structure is worth about $113 billion.

Musk also said that Tesla shareholders may be asked to vote on the company's possible investment in xAI, while stressing that he does not support the idea of their merger. In response to a question from a user on the social network X about whether Tesla shareholders support this, Musk briefly replied: «No.»

In the premarket on Monday, Tesla shares are growing by 1.2%, but they have lost 22.4% since the beginning of the year.
