The main events by the morning: June 10

• Agreements worth 6.4 trillion rubles were signed at SPIEF 2024. In 2023, the amount of transactions amounted to 3.8 trillion rubles. 

• The parties of Macron and Scholz were defeated in the elections to the European Parliament. The far right has taken over, and Ursula von der Leyen is likely to remain head of the European Commission. Her party, the European People's Party, gets 184 seats in the European Parliament (25.56%) – this is the majority.

• The G7 countries will put pressure on Chinese banks. U.S. representatives at the upcoming G7 summit intend to insist on the introduction of the toughest measures against Chinese financial institutions that continue to carry out financial transactions with Russia.

• There are plans to build a new shipyard in Russia. The United Shipbuilding Corporation is considering the possibility of building a new shipyard in St. Petersburg, Leningrad, Murmansk and Arkhangelsk regions, the Ministry of Industry and Trade reported. The commissioning period is scheduled for 2031-2032.

• Oil is unlikely to rise in price: Iraq will conclude an agreement on the resumption of oil exports from Kurdistan. The export of «black gold» from the region was suspended in 2023 due to the fact that Turkey allowed oil supplies from the autonomous region to bypass the federal government. Before the suspension, the region exported about 470 thousand barrels of oil per day.
